𝓝ormally, I wouldn't just go up a creepy dark attic because I was told to do so, but apparently, chiron claims that a quest isn't really one until the 'oracle' in the attic says otherwise.

I looked around the attic, examining everything in it. from mirrors, cages to halloween decorations, theres quite a lot in this place. the halloween decoration is what I assume was the oracle, it was an old woman who sat still looking like she wasn't going to move nor speak sooner or later

"hi, i'm brielle, and this is percy. it's nice to meet you" I tried getting her or is it an it? to talk "we were told a quest isn't a quest until you've said so?" I continued questioning the old woman

"which is weird considering you're a halloween decoration" percy added, losing his hope

goodness. the old woman started moving her head, now sitting straight I was now hearing faint, weak breaths coming from her "you seem busy, we'll come back" percy said gripping my hand, forcing me to leave with him, he must've been really scared at this point

"no" I told him, tilting my head to the old woman seeing some sort of green mist come out from her mouth, forming a mimic of... gabe? come on. really?

"you shall go west and face the god who has turned. and you shall find what was stolen and see it safely returned" thank goodness, this is better than I anticipated. that means we'll be successful with this quest, right?

"you shall be betrayed by the one who calls you friend, and fail to save what matters most in the end." it continued.

oh. well, doesn't that sound pleasant.

we were now standing at the pavilion next to chiron and mister dionysus "the oracle has confirmed what we expected" chiron announced to the selected demigods circling and surrounding the pavilion "that this quest will proceed toward the underworld. where you will confront the god who has rebelled against his brothers. hades. the entrance to hades' domain lies under the city of los angeles. this is where you will journey to." he continued, explaining where we will have to go.

on a scale of one to ten, how sure are we that hades was the one who stole the master bolt?

"I have selected our most compelling candidates" he mentioned meaning the other demigods around us at the moment "from which you two will each choose two to join you in this quest." "and ensure that we succeed" I already knew who I was going to choose "annabeth" "luke" percy and I said simultaneously, not letting chiron finish what he was saying
