Many hours had passed since Unaiza was under scrutiny by the team of doctors but they never updated him further. His mind never stopped recalling the pictures of the horrors that Unaiza had to see and bear. When one of the doctors came out, Huzaifa approached her impatiently.

"How is Unaiza? Did she gain consciousness?" He asked impatiently.

The doctor eyed him with apprehension. "We can't tell right now. Her condition is still not out of danger. We are trying our best. The injury over her head is very severe and that's why she is still fainting. The shock from the burns and physical torture had given her very mental trauma as well. And maybe this is the reason too why her condition got deteriorated. You just prey for her."

"Do whatever it takes but save her, please," he murmured, feeling a deep hole expanding inside his heart which was pulling him into darkness with each passing second.

"We are trying, Mr. Huzaifa. Don't lose hope and have good wishes for her. She will be fine In Sha Allah," the doctor replied professionally before walking away.

Huzaifa exhaled sharply in anxiety and tension as he slumped on the steel bench. She was in danger because of him. She suffered at Inaya's hands because of him. She was on the verge of hopelessness because of him. She didn't deserve this life which was filled with agony just because she was his wife.

Unaiza had the right to remain happy and contended but he couldn't keep her happy. None deserved to go through what Inaya made Unaiza suffer. That was all his mistake and if something happened to Unaiza, he would never be able to see himself in a good light ever.

Footsteps sounded and Haider arrived. He was still in his police uniform. Looking rugged and dark, his brother again made him remember that woman.

"How is Unaiza now?" Haider implored him.

Huzaifa lifted his head to gaze at his worried eyes. He shrugged his shoulders. "No progress yet. Still in danger."

Haider pressed his lips together. "She will be fine, Huzaifa. Our Unaiza is very strong and optimistic. She will be able to compose herself very soon In Sha Allah."

Huzaifa snickered. "That was what led her to today. We never cared about what she felt because she always gave an impression that she was happy."

Haider raised a brow in confusion but nodded anyway. "She was very positive and I am sure she won't lose hope. We need to just become her strength and pray for her."

Huzaifa scratched his forehead. "Us ghatya aurat k sath kya kya ha ap ne? Main me agar us aurat k is zameen pe azadi sy ghoomta huwa dekha Tu main khud usko zinda usi zameen main garh dn ga, Haider Bhai. Kisi chez k parwah nhi kron ga."

(A/N translation: What did you do with that disgusting woman? If I see that woman roaming around freely, I'll bury her in the same soil by myself, Haider Bhai. I won't care for anything at all.")
