Two decades past since born was this Ares
A soldier from Sparta who fought for my heart
A handsome young prince whom I hope to marry
Not even two trojans could tear us apart
And even on days when I lose all my patience
When he gives me headaches or brings me to tears
I'm fortunate still to have made his acquaintance
And look forward to more precarious years
He calls me his queen, but treats me like a goddess
His Aphrodite, his lover, and Venus
But grateful yet with him as my solace
Our love will transform, be reborn like a phoenix
But how can I fit all my love in a verse
When each new day with him feel the same as the first
