I plunge my hand deep into my chest, gasping for breath as I do so. The pain is bad but not for long. I jerk my hand out of my body and look at the glowing crimson object sitting in the middle of my palm. I sigh, closing my eyes, squeezing my fingers over my heart. A sharp pain runs through my entire body. When I come close to almost crushing it completely I release my grip and sigh again. "I guess Mom was right. Hide your heart, and no one will find it." I whisper as I walk to my dresser, pulling out a small box. The lid opens and I set my heart inside, locking it. "No one will ever find it."
