Written by Amateur Musician Pete Seeger under the Alias "Worker Singer" in 1938. This hastily written song was composed during the Second American Civil War in the 1930's. It later was adopted as a de facto 'Anthem' of the Combined Syndicalists of America and served as a popular March and was translated into many languages, notably French and German.
