When her father is found brutally murdered in the park, the case takes on a different feeling. Letters and notes start to come in, each unsigned and with a hand drawn lantern on the front. Attempting an investigation on his own has him opening cold cases from long before his time. With only his conscience for backup, Shawn finds himself caught up in a hunt for the murderer thats the devil for the cruel and a Merciful Monster for the abused. Who is sending the letters?
