Vide Cor Meum, a story about Dante and Beatrice. That was what the group of prestigious scholars and other researchers were discussing Dante's La Vita Nuova and the new adaptation into opera.

A new member had joined the group, the name doctor fell. He seemed a pleasant man, understanding the complexities of the story and opera. You seemed to hit it off in the conversation, Doctor Fell agreeing with most of what you had to say which was a change, as you and your ideas were usually shut down by other members. This was because you were the youngest there, meaning you were always looked down upon.

"So doctor, what brought you to Florence?" you asked, a small smile on your face.

"My interests" Doctor Fell said, placing his hat onto his head and flashing you a small smile.

"and what may they be?" you asked, smiling back.

"the fine arts" he said, placing some papers into his bag. "Art, literature, music" you hummed as he picked up his bag. "I must ask why as one as young as yourself is here"

"the same as you, doctor" you said with a smile. "I also enjoy learning and to discuss the fine arts"

"I wonder what we also have in common" he said with a little wink.

"I do also" you said, smiling. "Maybe we can discuss that over some coffee? Or some wine if you are feeling so inclined"

Doctor Fell gave you a smile, adjusting his hat. "I would take up your offer, however, I do have some business to attend to" he gave you a slight smirk. "I will look forward to the next meeting"

"Quite" you said, watching as Doctor Fell walked out of the large room, leaving you alone with your thoughts. He was quite dashing, the new Doctor Fell, he seemed to know exactly what to say and how to say it, a man like himself must have a wife or a husband. You rolled your eyes at your thoughts of Doctor Fell and his relationships, instead, you picked up your papers and hugged them to your chest as you left the room.

You lived in a small apartment overlooking the river Arno. It was full of books, research papers and other random objects you had collected over the past years. You worked at a local museum as their head researcher of Renaissance and Italian art, history and literature, the job brought with it a lot of books.

You sat on your couch and looked as the river went past and the people on the other side. You loved your view, helping you to calm yourself and concentrate on the task at hand. At the moment you had nothing to do, being finished for the day. Yawning slightly you reached for the remote and switched through some channels until it fell onto some random channel with the news which you watched idly, busying yourself with sorting out the papers you had brought home into semi-neat piles. You had enjoyed the debate today, for the first time in a while.

You got up and turned the TV off, you were hungry and went out to get some food in the many delicious restaurants of Florence.
