The gunfire slowly stopped... I knew they wouldn't give up that easy but I didn't care. Micheal still wasn't back and It's been a rough estimation about 10 minutes at most. I looked around one last time before looking at Marcus
"Marcus I'm going up there." I admit.
"Moore no!" He spoke sternly.
"I need to know if he's okay!" I cried.
"You're dead if you go up there and I can't risk that!" He admit.
"There is no life worth living if he's not in it!" I admit.
He let out a sigh as I couldn't help but stream tears from my eyes.
"Promise me you'll come back down." He sighed.
"I promise." I nod.
We parted our ways as he went to go reunite and find his way to Axe. I made my way up that mountain looking at my surroundings still. My knee was aching but I wasn't a quitter and I never backed out of a fight. As I got closer to the top I could see blood trials. I already knew it couldn't be good.
I looked around carefully with my rifle in hand until I turned around.. but a part of me wished I didn't.
"Hey sunshine." Micheal coughed.
He had been shot... more than once and he wasn't doing so good. Blood flowed out his body and no matter how much I wanted to stop it I knew I was too late.
"Micheal." I ran over fall to my knee.
I placed my hand on his wounds trying to apply pressure.
"I'm alright." He assured.
He spits out blood on the side of his body. Tears formed within my eyes but he wiped them as they fell.
"I made that call.. but I lost signal in the end." He tucked my hair.
"Oh micheal." I smiled lightly with tera sin my eyes kissing him repeatedly.
"You did good." I smiled kissing him face.
This couldn't be it.
I wasn't ready to even let go.
"God I love you micheal." I smiled with tears in my eyes.
"I love you more than you can imagine josh." He struggled to say.
"Don't go.. Please. There's so much I want to say but I don't know where to start." I held his head on my lap.
