Chapter 0

CARTER

I stand here in disbelief with splatters of her crimson blood on my t-shirt.

Staring at her – her lifeless body. Her pale skin, with an enormous scar on her shoulder, blood seeping out of it. She has no colour in her eyes; it seems as if her pupils have disappeared. The words "I hope you die'' keep running through my head; I wish I hadn't said them. The pain and guilt chokes me, eats away at me, causing tears to make my cheeks even damper.

I know this dramatic description of a dying person before my eyes probably confuses you. So, let me tell you about how my day began and how I did not expect to end up here.
