I was born from Loyalty
I came from greatness
A blessing to my family
A worry to my community
A hope for my race
I was cursed from birth
I was born a crime

The light that shines like libra sun
The hope for a better change
A child to be a great worrywart
A soldier for Peace
A hero for my nation
I was born crime

Little did my enemy know
Little did he know what i posses in me
What great dwells with in me
The fire and passion to Re-write history
The power to build a better America
I was born a crime

From infancy i was a threat
He's too dark, and too strong
My black greatness was a threat from the dawn of time
From kindergarten i was a Nigga
By grade four i was last to be picked on the team.
I was never invited to sleep overs
He's too hood for us
I was too black for poetry
And too corny for the hood.
I was born a crime.

In my teens i couldn't wear a hoody so i don't get shot. Don't make eye contact
Don't jog, don't call for help after an accident.
I can't breathe!!!
I cried so loud yet so silent.
I bleed so much but no one noticed
My blackness was a sin
My blackness was a gift
I was born a blessing
To inspire and to create
To create peace and equality.
