The politics surrounding dragons are complicated and when Atticus finds two that have bonded to a human, he has to consider the safety of the forest he was bound to protect first. In the simplest terms of a herbarium is a collection of things, herbs to be exact. Atticus mostly just liked the word. There was something enjoyable about the way it rolled off the tongue. The creatures in the forest he cared for were far from something for him to collect, but he was often gifted with things: a branch from the ancient tree outside his house, a silver leaf from the forest nymph frozen in time, a pale scale from the mer in the lake, a vivid blue feather from the phoenix, a fang necklace from the wolf-child were only part of his collection.
