Jack stretched out his foot ready to take his final step. A snap came from behind him, causing him to immediately retract his foot. He hesitated to turn, he didn't know what was behind him and dreaded the idea of seeing another human. He knew they might try to stop him and that was the last thing he wanted. But in the end he gave in and turned around only for him freeze in shock. A gorilla stood a couple yards a away looking straight at him. They survived? Is the thing that immediately came to his mind. Ceasar's group survived after all those years, almost a decade later. Could Caesar be alive? Before Jack had anymore time to ponder over the thought he was quickly snapped out of his daze when the gorilla took a cautious step towards him. Jack stayed frozen but when the gorilla took another step he instinctively took one back. Fatal mistake, his foot slipped and he staggered backwards. He let out a small shriek of surprise as gravity took hold. Quickly and without thinking he grabbed onto the cliff's ledge, he had a new found drive to stay alive. The small hope Caesar was still alive made him want to continue. His arms strained under his weight but he pushed forward. He tried hoisting himself back up but he couldn't. He wasn't strong enough. Jack groaned as he tried to lift himself again, tears filled his eyes. He wasn't afraid to die but he had just found hope and he wasn't about to lose it. He gripped harder onto the ledge. He held on so tight his hands where going numb. His arms where gonna give out and he knew it yet he refused to quit. With one last attempt he pulled. His arms gave way under the immense strain and he felt himself falling. Not even a second later he stopped. He was no longer falling but just hanging there limply. Jack looked up and came face to face with the gorilla.
