For the last seven years, October has been the hardest calendar month for the Adams. After the tragic passing of her mother, Kendahl does everything in her power to keep her dad company during the month. Even if that now means taking a long trip and a short break from her art school in Maine. Being back in town, of course, means falling back into her old high school routine; working in the family paint store, doing homework, and living in her childhood bedroom. However, when her dad goes away on one of his many business trips, someone from her past comes unexpectedly stumbling back into her life. Someone who Kendahl has not really seen since the passing of her best friend, aka his little sister. With an almost decade long killer on the loose, one could reason that maybe Miller, who has since become a private investigator, is here for the case. At least that is the reason that he feeds Kendahl as to why he is back. But, the facts aren't adding up. Something that even her fifteen year old lovestruck self can see. When another woman goes missing, something that hits a little too close to home for Kendahl, she is forced to make a choice. Leave it to the professionals who think that they have everything under control or do a little bit of amateur sleuthing herself. It is everyone's dream to play detective after all.
