World War II brought upon tragedy to millions of people all across the world. Adolf Hitler's determination to exterminate the Jewish race across Europe resulted in the Allies and the Axis' conflict lasting six painful years. But very little reports illustrate the suffering of many innocent citizens during this time. Declared as "enemy aliens" once the United States entered the war, over 125,000 Japanese Americans and 11,000 German Americans were forced into internment camps due to their ancestry.
