Something flicked, and a small, fiery light flickered across the room. Slowly, I looked behind me. The ashy flame of the cigarette illuminated his face. Seeing him leaned back in my chair, staring at me with dark, dangerous eyes, was something that inspired nightmares. He tilted his head back and blew a cloud of smoke past his lips. "Do you need some time to find a hiding place?" His lips twisted into a warped smile. "I'll count to ten." ~~~~~~ Myra is a thief with a mission; to escape the police. After getting caught during a particular heist attempt, she finds herself locked in a deal with the police captain and must work her way out of it. When an escape attempt from the police goes wrong and Myra finds herself the star witness of a murder, she gains the attention of the town's most dangerous man, Atticus Havélock. When she puts his freedom at risk, he confronts her with the intention of not letting her leave alive, but there is something about her that makes his heart shudder. So Myra faces two choices: does she turn Atticus into the police, or does she risk it all for a chance of something more?
