Someone once told me animals naturally form packs. Whether you are an insect, a bird, a predator, or a prey. Social cliques among animals are what holds the ecosystem and numbers stable. Take wolves for example; those that fail to become alphas, harbor the burden of failure. Carnivores naturally form social hierarchies within their packs. Herbivores however, sacrifice their comrades to evade their predators and live on. In this world forming packs yields benefits for the individual, a solitary wolf cannot survive alone. A wolf strives to survive. It strives for power to feed its hunger because without power they cannot have the strength to form packs. Thus they must fight against one another to earn their way to the top of their food chain. Wolves strive to live because a lone wolf- is a dead wolf. This isn't your average werewolf story. It's far from it.
