When 26-year-old career minor-leaguer Jordan Gil gets an invite to major league camp from the Kansas City Jesters, he decides to take steroids in an attempt to hit the pitch that has hamstrung his career: the inside fastball. Set in the late 90's, The Unnatural tells the story of Jordan's attempt to hold onto his major-league dreams. Jordan believes he will now be able to marry Ashley, whom he has pursued for two years. But, at the Jesters season-opening banquet, he discovers that Ishtar Forsythe, his college dream girl, is the daughter of the team's new owner. Torn between two women he has long desired, Jordan attempts to save the downtrodden Jesters from contraction by Major League Baseball while deciding between two vastly different, but equally compelling women. The Unnatural is the story of an entire era of baseball-without the self-serving agendas of memoirs like Jose Canseco's Juiced or The Game of Shadows.
