I could never be a poem
One so fragile and exposed
With words that feel like home
Beautifully written and composed

I could never be a story
Not one people would recommend
It would lack the guts and glory
And wouldn't have a happy end

I could never be a song
I dont have what is required
To make people sing along
To be remembered and admired

I am all of the things I wish I had fought
An unfinished story no one will see
I will forever be an unwritten thought
I am a long forgotten melody
