Assalamualaikum, in this chapter the POV will change from person to person, so please bear with it.

Omar's POV

The decision she has chose is final. I can't stop her, not the doctor not anyone. And I know by then-this is the real challenge. For her, for me, for us.

When we get back home, I urge her to take a rest as it's already nine o'clock. Meanwhile, I head back downstairs to release the tension that I got from all these astonishing news; by reading the Qur'an.

Halfway through Surat Al-Mulk, my phone rings with the tone signaling that it's from a family member. Indeed it is-it's from Yusuf.

"Assalamualaikum, Omar. How is Habibah?" He questions, his tone screams worry.

"Waalaikumsalaam. Yusuf," I sigh. "I want you to convey this to your family. We went to doctor just now. And the doctor said that due to different rhesus of blood, Habibah-or the baby is in danger. But due to the baby, Habibah's life is at the cliff."

"What do you mean, Omar? A-Are you saying that she'll d-"

"Yusuf! Stop that, you idiot!" Yaqub yells.

"Listen, our blood are different. I have a positive blood, whereas Habibah has a negative blood. This difference brings problem to the pregnancy, which in effect, lowers the mother's health. In this situation, we have an option; a tough one indeed."

"What is it?" It seems like Yaqub takes over the phone.

"Let the baby stay but Habibah's life is at risk-or abort the baby for Habibah's life." Silence takes over the other side of the line.

"That's insane! It's like literally killing yourself or let someone kill you. What did Habibah say?"

"She chose to let the baby stay."

"That's Habibah. Isn't it allowed for you to abort the baby if your health is at risk?" I know it is allowed. However. . .

"Habibah's choice is final. You know her well. She won't change her mind once it's settled. I plead to you, please convey this to your family. I don't want them to think as if I'm hiding this all. I'm telling you once again, this is qodarullah. I want you to accept it just as Habibah herself is accepting it."

"Omar. Trust me, it's no one's fault. And don't worry, we'll tell them. But about mom. . . You see, the matter is. . . Grandpa passed away. This morning. Mom is sick and she's buying a ticket to head back to our country. I'll let her calm first before inserting another shock to her mind. She'll cry out blood tears if she knows the condition. Oh, don't tell Habibah about this-we'll come there to tell her." Yusuf replies. I sigh. Grandpa-he's one of Habibah's favourite person in this world. Allah, help mom and Habibah-whatever they're feeling, strenghten them.

"Please pass the condolonces to your family. I'm sorry, but I think I won't be able to pay a vist there, unless Habibah knows about this."

"It's alright. We'll call you later, there are guests. Assalamualaikum."

"Waalaikumussalaam." With that, the line turns off.

I wipe my face. This is a challenge, isn't it? Allah's giving me a challenge to strenghten my faith, right?

I place the Qur'an back in its place and walk upstairs only to find that Habibah is already fast asleep.

I pull the thobe over my head and change into a t-shirt and sweatpants. I crawl onto the bed and pull the blanket over our bodies. One bad habit about Habibah is that; she doesn't pull the blanket over her body and would get cold in the middle of the night.
