I tried to be quiet as I walked into the common room. I didn't wanna be loud and possibly wake someone

It was dark, but after a few moments, the light turned on. I closed the door and turned around, getting ready to walk up to my room

I jumped at the sight of my friends gathered in the common room

Tom was on one of the couches, with a blue light in hand pointed at a book. As usual, he had no interest in anything around him

Maddie stood in front of the couch with her hands crossed as she leaned against it

Lorenzo was sitting with Theodore on the couch behind her

And Mattheo was sitting with Tom looking up at me

"Where have you been?" "Huh?" Maddie was speaking to me like a mom

"Why are you all gathered here like some satanic cult?" "We we're all worried!" Maddie was giving me a bit of attitude, Tom cleared his throat

"I, for one, don't care about what you do or what happens to you, but Mattheo insisted we all wait for you." "Your so cute, Tommy."

"If you call me that again, I'll turn you into a dragon, kill you, and then mount your head on my wall."

"Sure, Tom." Truth be told, I was actually kinda scared to call him Tommy again because I knew he was indeed fully capable of slaying my arse if he wanted to

I do have a genuine fear of Tom..

"Wait, you gathered everyone here?" "Yes, because he's obsessed with you and needs to know where you are all the damn time." "Eat shit Tom!" I laughed, I love their relationship

"I was just a little worried, you weren't answering my calls. Which made me curious if anyone else had heard from you -" "Okay, but why am I here? I'm too busy for this, I don't even talk to her." "Tom! Can you just shut your mouth and read your damn book?"

"With pleasure, but don't ever speak to me like that again, little brother, I'll end you within seconds." Mattheo mocked him as the rest of us smiled, they always argue when we're all together

"But um yeah...so I just had everyone come here so we'd all be here for you if it was needed..I guess?" "Thank you, Matt, but I believe my phone died. What were you trying to call me about?"

"Just about that thing you were looking for in the library the other day, I did some more reading and I found out normal wolves have the same appearances and such, like the ones you were looking for."

Maddie and Lorenzo's attention were instantly caught, they looked at me confused, worried, maybe even a little mad

Everyone else looked curious "Why were you reading about all that?" "Curiousity." Theodore analyzed me for a moment, then looked at Lorenzo

"Was that helpful?" Mattheo asked like he was begging for it to be useful to me, obviously not begging, but he had a certain tone

I'm sure it only sounded that way because he didn't want to have everyone here for no reason

"Yes, Mattheo, it was very helpful, thank you." He nodded "So since your alive and well. I'm leaving." Tom popped up from the couch, and went up the common room stairs

"How do you even deal?" I looked at Mattheo and Lorenzo

Enzo scoffed and looked at Mattheo "I can barely even handle him, and he's not even my brother, you should see the abuse this poor sucker has to go through over break." "Shush Enzo." We all chuckled

"Since everything is good, I'm gonna head to bed. Goodnight guys." "Goodnight Theo." We all waved as he went up the stairs

"Hey, Core?" He turned back halfway to look down at me

"Yeah?" "I'm glad your okay." He gave me a slight smile, I gave him one back, and then he continued up the stairs

I noticed Mattheo watching me closely, squinting at me like he was confused in a way

It made my smile go away instantly

"Whats wrong, Matt?" Maddie and Enzo were still here, talking to each other. It almost looked secretive

Mattheo came up to me and shook his head "Nothing..but this wasn't too much, was it?" The way he spoke to me made my smile come back, it seemed like it was important to him

"No, Mattheo, it wasn't too much." My smile grew even bigger "In fact," I kissed his cheek while placing a hand on his shoulder "I think it was very sweet." He shook his head

"Don't say sweet, makes me sound like a cupcake or something." "Would you rather be sour?" "Between you and I, no, no, I wouldn't."

He stayed silent for a second, then got ready to say something, but he must've changed his mind

He stared at me for a little longer, then sighed "Goodnight Cormala." "Goodnight Matt." He stood there for a moment, then turned his back to me, making his way to the stairs

He waved at Enzo and Maddie, although he knew he would see one of them in a minute

Maddie and Lorenzo came up to me as soon as he was gone

"You asked him for help?!" "Does he know?" "Also, good job on that I saw that little thing you had going on there." Maddie winked at me like a child. I giggled "Thank you, I deeply believe I'm getting better at being more intimate with him."

"Excuse me? Intimate with him?" Oh yeah, Lorenzo doesn't know, oh well

"Forget it Enzo, but honestly, Maddie, at this point, I think we're just acting sweetly to each other. Nothing really intimate happened except for that party, but even then, it wasn't really intimate."

She smiled "So in a weird way, our plan is kinda working?" "Kinda." But now that I think about it, I didn't want there to be a plan, it was pointless anyway. I wasn't necessarily getting anywhere

I don't even know why I wanted to get "revenge" on him, yeah sure it was annoying he always had the last word

Now, I realize I was being just as childish as him for trying to be better than him

I kinda liked what we had now. He didn't really play games with me. If he did, it wasn't often or consistent like before

"I'm so confused." "Forget it, Enzo, but honestly, I think I'm gonna drop my scheme, it's stupid." She frowned "Boring. I thought we were gonna be like a movie." "How'd you think it was going to go."

"I figured you'd do your scheme, be successful, but in the process, you realized you were in love with him. So you wanted to drop it and be for real, but someone sabotaged the relationship, like Pansy or something. So, you guys spilt up and never talked ever again-"

"Hold on, Pansy? She wants nothing to do with Mattheo, atleast not anymore. She's with Draco." "You never know, but anyways-" "Guys, drop this. Why was he helping you. Does he know or not?"

"No, Lorenzo. He doesn't. He just caught me in the library, and I asked for his help. Nothing crazy."

"But why?" I shrugged "He was there, and it would've made my research faster." He nodded

"Well, did any of it help? Did you figure out who it was?" "Yes, Maddie, I did, not to worry, we don't have another...moon baby on our hands. It's just a normal...moon baby.."

"Moon baby? Wow. That's actually unbelievable." She laughed "Maddie don't laugh. That's stupid." "But hilarious." "I know, I'm good."

"Well, I'm glad we don't have anymore moon babies to deal with." "Ha! You called it a moon baby!" Maddie and I laughed

"Oh my god goodnight." He shook his head as he went up the stairs

"He's so dull sometimes." "Agreed. Come on, I'm tired. I've been out all day." "Yeah, what were you doing, actually?"

"Looking for moon babies." We laughed louder as we made our way up the stairs
