HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU LOVE SOMEONE ?, like utterly and truly?
Because Olympia Hartley was always convinced that her devotion for her best friend Callum was strictly platonic — they'd share clothes ( predominantly olly stealing Callum's), they'd spend hours upon hours in one another's company , sleep in the same bed.
Their friends had always joked they were more of a 'married couple' then friends, but that's just how it was for the two of them. And it was no big deal, so what if Olly had spent summer holidays with Callum's family at their home by the seaside: helping his mum with the food shop or his dad set up the barbecue after a day at the beach, that's what friends do right?
Or if Calum flew out to wherever Olympia was to see her whilst she was filming? that's just what friends do right? And when Olly would calendar in time to call Calum each night, that's just what normal friends do.
And Olympia didn't know when it all went wrong, but somewhere along the line it did. Callum went offline ( at least when she was concerned ), she learnt about his life through posts on their friends private Instagram accounts. Her messages went undelivered and her calls unanswered.
After futile attempts to reconcile and apologise for whatever she had done to hurt him, she moved on — got a boyfriend, spent the majority of her time in New York and buried herself in her work.
Said work including being cast in the lead of a film adaptation — a rom com ( one of Olympia's personal favourites) , a film that if it's anything like the book ( which it most likely would be) is going to be intimate. Which would be fine...
If her costar and counterpart wasn't said best friend who ghosted her ten months ago. four months in one of the most romantic countries in the world, it'll be fine.
