THINGS YOU CAN DO INSTEAD

1. Having to leave a lifetime goal unfulfilled
• leaving a gang
• Learn a new language
• Write a book
• Buy family a house
• Move family out the hood
• Apologizing

2. Having to betray the group/lover/family in order to save them. (But no one else in their group understands).

3. Realizing something they worked hard to find isn't real & all their work was for nothing.

4. Figuring that the villain was right the whole time and there's nothing they could do about it.

Betrayal of a person who the main character always trusted. And the villain warned them about,

5. Turning out the be what they feared/hated at the end of the book.
if y'all watch anime this is a perfect example of Eren hating titans for killing human just to end up being a titan who kills everything

6. Perfectionism
someone in the book is never satisfied which leads to more issues

7. Redemption arc that comes just a little too late

8. Making a mistake that's too big to be forgiven for

9. Betrayal by a sibling, parent or child

9. A character who's completely at peace with their tragic destiny

10. Relapsing on an addiction after doing so well

11. Making an honest mistake that leads to horrible consequences and endangers people they love

12. Realizing someone they love is in danger, but they're the ones who sent them into it
