PRESENT
" oh Nanami" your voice cracks as you desperately wiped your tears. Nanami exchanges no words , he just stared at you with a helpless look
" look. It's not what it looks like " you put it out there despite Nanami's lack of words
You sniffle after hearing no response, " okay maybe it does seem like it- but I promise im fine!" You begin to rant even more
Nanami closed his eyes for a split second, deciding to take off his coat. You couldn't object as he draped his jacket over you, " you'll get sick" were the only words he spoke
You were dumbfounded as Nanami stood next to you, making sure you were completely covered from the rain while his shoulder slowly got soaked
" I really tried Nanami.." you sighed.
" but did you try hard enough?" Nanami's soft voice cooed you. You glance up, shocked at his words
" don't push people away. It's unhealthy." Nanami lectured. He was right. Of course he was. " how did you find complete happiness" you couldn't help but murmur
The man pauses. " I haven't. But I've learnt happiness is through the joy of others" Nanami says his final words
You soak in his words. The both of you shared no words after that, basking in the rain while waiting for the bus
| THE NEXT DAY
You stumbled to your old high school. Youthful memories were a thing of the past and you stood there. You still felt like you were missing something
There Gojo was. He was laughing with his students. Was he ever truely happy? Nanami's words were harsh yet true. With a clutching hand you travel over to Gojo's laughs
" oh miss [y/n]" Yuta turned around eagerly, waving widely
" hi Yuta" you formally nod while everyone else greets you respectfully. " what are you doing here [y/n]?" Gojo calls your voice with such sincerity
" I finally thought about being a teacher, here." You said with such gratitude. Gojo's expression changes, you couldn't tell if he was happy or not
" really!?! That's amazing!" Panda commented. " finally we have a new teacher" Maki had respect for you. Toge nodded, agreeing with everyone
" wow! Finally!" Yuta had a toothy grin " what convinced you?" Gojo was utterly breathless, he seemed to be skeptical
" well I'm trying to find the right path for myself, and that is preventing people from following,.. you know" you tried to phase it
