The Ace of Hearts, often shortened to A♡, are an Australian pop-rock and alternative band from Melbourne, Brighton, formed in late 2014. The band is now based in London, England. The group consists of main producer and lead bassistDorothea Panganiban, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Lorelai Summers, lead guitaristShinji King, keyboardist and synthesizer Nathaniel Zhang and drummerAugust Walker.
Originally beginning their career on Youtube where they uploaded covers of artists ranging from The Beatles to The Goo Goo Dolls to the National and as well as original songs. They rose to international fame while touring with Ed Sheeran on his ÷ Tour in 2019 as the opener for his Oceania and Asia stops where their first band's lead single of their first EP, Heather, went viral and being featured on The National's 2019 album.
The artist eventually signed the band under his label, Gingerman Records and is currently still the band's label.
The band released "Heather" which topped the charts in four countries— Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and Malaysia. Their debut album was released in May 2018, peaking at number one in 11 countries and hit No. 1 in the United Kingdom and charted in the Billboard 200, garnering critical praise and appearing in numerous publications' year-end and decade-end lists.
