I think about the left and right motions
that you made;
the difficult ones and the consequences
that came with 'easy'
'I never had you'
is scribbled in sharpie ink and concrete rubble
bouncing from one blonde strand to another
You uttered 'I'm sorry'
and I was sure I laughed -
bunching up my rebel nose
and pinching up my eyes
Sorry didn't dry my clothes
or keep me warm at night
because it's only one word and
I'm looking for three
but you showed me your back and
I'm still looking

ReAnimation: A Poetry Collection
PoetryThis is a collection of poems from my youth that were pretty edgy and poorly written. Here, I've updated, edited, and reinvented them so they are not just a pile of lost causes in my poetry archives.
