Brandy Mills

Brandy Mills is a Southern girl to the bone. Being a resident of The Mississippi Gulf Coast from birth has given her the ability to know what the end actually feels like in real time. After Hurricane Katrina ravished her hometown and destroyed much of her family history, she fought to bring home back. Soon after she opened a Preschool based on the Arts. 

This year is the tenth anniversary of Katrina and in turn the tenth birthday of her school. Then in a stroke of madness, her business and hometown  had to survive the worse Oil Spill on American soil only 5 years after the great flood. It is no mystery why her reading and writing turned to the apocalyptic. We write what we know and sometimes that is tragedy and survival. 
 
She is a graduate of Psychology and a Graduate Student for her Masters in Children and Family. Brandy has been writing since she could hold a pencil. Her favorite author has always been Stephen King. Brandy reads about 10 books a month and has completed everything by King. She loves Jacqueline Druga's apocalypse style writing. Anything disease, zombies or viral outbreak will be found on her kindle! Her favorite book of all time is GEEK LOVE by Katherine Dunn. 

Loves all things Dystopian. She runs Dystopian Digest, an independent blog. Her debut novel is to be published next Spring. Brandy has been a professional writer for a local publication, Coast Observer, for years. Mills has been acting and directing in theater since childhood...known to be a little dramatic and her writing  very outside the box. 

But, her style is that of the strange. She likes to write what she would enjoy reading. This means, the more uncomfortable it makes the reader, the better. You will find the South draped and embedded throughout her stories.
