As I continue to write for ‘Young Gods,’ I had thought for a while that unlike other pieces, the Nico I write has quite the sad undertones to him; many write him to be this badass existence in a world of fantasy.

I used to think that was a fault of mine, but recently I’ve come to realise that Nico truly is just a child. That regardless of the experiences he’s matured through, he is entirely just a teenager that had the fates put the balance of the world on his back.

As a fashion, kids that tend to experience trauma at young age tend to feel it the hardest as adults or at more adjusted ages when there’s nothing outright traumatising happening; they’re finally able to process events, whilst their body is still run on survival.

The reason I feel the need to mention any of this is just as a reminder to any who are expecting an overpowered, BAMF Nico Di Angelo.

Nico is only but a teen, and I will write him as such.

          About HEALING.

Truth be told, this fanfic series isn’t one I’m quite willing to update or continue.
The series is one I started when I was literally 13, the content isn’t one I’m that proud of because of how much I’ve matured in my writing style and as a person.

I made my character ‘a fantasy version of myself,’ a very unrealistic teenage girl who was too overpowered for the plot. I shipped her with a few characters from the anime, which now makes me uncomfortable due to my current age. I also disregarded major plot points because I was too focused on my own, and because I’m not great at creating my own scenes; essentially becoming a reader insert.

Reviewing the series itself, I find myself quite critical of its entirety. One of the main problems is how the girls in the show are presented, sexualised and undermined with most being only 15 from the start. I never realised, until quite recently, how problematic that was, and how I enabled and encouraged this in my writing.

I’m sorry to those who want me to continue, but I’m unable to deliver.
If I ever do update, the writing style will be completely different, and may follow a completely new premise for the improvised character I created.
