DomiSotto

If you have known me for long enough as a writer, you know that my goal was always to hit 50K reads for just writing and posting, no promotion, no nothing. 50K reads is a modest amount when success is measured in millions, but for me, that's enough. After 6 years of posting on 5 different sites, I finally reached this goal. I'm not gong to guild the lily. It was on Inkitt and it was with a story in an erotic category, a reverse harem featuring an Australian college swim team. It gives me hope that I can write stories people will read, but my unicorn story is still waiting to happen. For now, I'm jus going to celebrate finally meeting this important milestone and dream of popular success.

@DomiSotto Oh, thanks ... that's good to hear. I have a friend who moved her stories on that site during the Pandemic era cause her husband got laid off and she needed the extra money. That's why I had the auomatic thinking that it was a paid site. I might stop by there next month when I'm free and make an account. Answers to the name of Pilar there. LOL! (That ws the name my dad was going to give me cause where he lives in the Philippines is a book called Pepe and Pilar. My dad's name is Jose/ Pepe is the equivalent in Spanish.)
In all my socials, except FB [cause that's mainly for family and family friends overseas ) I always use alias since I used to have a stalker. And like some people here that I won't name, they say Pia is to blame! *facepalming* In short, I'll just say everyone comes with a 100 attitude % ... it's up to them if they want to abuse it and ruin someone's self-esteem. I'm your friendly person but like my Navy vet Dad, I can be stubborn too. LOL

My username here is Glory aka Gloria cause that was my maternal grandmother's name. There's also a song called "Gloria" by Laura Branigan. You can find it on Youtube. It talks about someone's alias. Haha!

@Glory_feeling2 50K reads, not a word count, heh. Inkitt is a free site. People can set up the tiers if they wish, but it's totally optional. I'm, obviously, free

@DomiSotto Congratulations Domi! Reaching 50k s always quite a milestone ... I don't know how authors of the Nanowrimo can do it within a month. That's some religious technique I still have to learn. LOL! For me that takes about a year to get my novels done.

And that's great to hear that you have readers on your other account. I don't have Inkitt as I don't like to go on paid writing sites. I already have enough money problems in my personal life. *smiles* If I was a millionaire I'd go for it though! LOL

Friends, Watty 2024 book is live. I'm overwhelmed by writing and mulch (long story), so I just quickly looked over the rules. Basically, very few changes since last year, save for a bit more clear statement that Ongoing stories category is intended for long, long, long serials. There is a further reduction for genres, but the upside is that they made the audience age (teen/adult ) a separate entry parameter vs a genre.

In all likelihood, neither my writing, nor my mulch would let me edit and submit Ablaze in its last year of eligibility into Watty, since it needs editing, and I am overcommitted. I'll focus on working on it when the time is right, hope I will have a book to compete with for 2025, and I am going to cheer on all the contestants whenever I can.

          Good luck, friends!

@Glory_feeling2 That's a good thing. FOMO has an uncanny ability to mess with the most solid goals, so it's important to know what you need, not what everyone else needs/does.

@DomiSotto Hi! I'm almost the same ...not joining this year as I'm wiped out. Doing smaller contests. Almost finished my WIP for the API contest and entered my LBTQ sci-fi novel to the Pride contest for next month. Not expecting much (cause I tend to get rejected in more popular contests). In the mean time, just writing, editing and reading is what I'm doing. *smiles*

Hi guys, if you don’t mind my writing and looking for another read, I am interested in readers' reactions to Ablaze. It's a small book, but I like its bones and want to redraft it during my Great Slow Editing Year 2025.

Sorry for the radio-silence, folks. With DMs gone, I am gonna try to show up more on the Instagram, so if you are not averse to flowers and gardens, and for some inconceivable reason want to keep tabs on me, I am also DomiSotto there. Because, well, that's me. Gonna go snapshot peppers and tomato seedlings for your enjoyment now. Yay!

@Kamiccola likely because I was so quiet on there

@DomiSotto hey I know that last time I caught you off guard with the fact that my Hercules book was a poem. I have a new book I would like a review on, it’s a poem too. I wanted to warn you ahead of time and give you a chance to flag me down before I made an official request.

@Domisotto thanks anyway good luck to you too!!! : )

Super-excited to share the next ONC 2024 story that goes onto my Completed and LOVED reading list. It is the sublime, gorgeously written Chimera by @empiresofwater I can't gush enough about the prose, the alive characters and the breath-hitching plot twists. Amazing and clever, and goes beyond must read. You can't be on Wattpad and NOT not have read it. Period.
