One of my projects that I’ve been working on in my free time for fun has a relationship that was inspired by one of my mom’s customers.
The customer lost her mother a few years ago, and was living with her mother’s husband (her stepdad). Anyway, she is now married to her stepdad. And for some reason, when I heard this, my brain was like, “Le gasp! The drama!”
So, I based a relationship between two characters off of that, though with some slight changes, lol

@adventure My latest WIP is one since I am following the historical romance prompt for the API contest based on the Burma and Siamese 1700's wars. It was a prompt I chose because one of my great college friends from Mynammar/ formerly known as Burma. I helped her in an Asian talent event. At that time, the Filipino showcase was crowded (aka felt that they didn't want Miss Pia around ... yes poor me), so I did the next best thing. Anyway, I normally don't write historical adventure stories and it took me some time to develop a plan. So in a way this unexpected source of inspiration is based on my college friend.

I'm usually inspired by a story and start my word building form there. I think about background and setting and slowly, the world I built has changed so much that it branches off.
I have a doc or a notion board filled with random stuff and the hard part when it comes to all of this is creating something that is different. What makes this world and this specific portion different from the world that it’s based on?
