@McFlurry_Fries This book is pretty unique, haven't found anything that even comes close to it yet. But maybe Nyctophobia or Pretending to Live? They both have a traumatic backstory. Fair warning though, Nyctophobia has a weird Peter Pan cross over towards the end and is incomplete.
