When you think of the present,
When you think of us,
Do you see a future?
Do you see me?
I want you.
I want you so bad
Do you want me too?

The next day when they awoke everything went back to normal, like they hadn't been grieving over each other and cried over their painful miscommunication of emotions.

They fell back into their usual and acted as if they hadn't seen absolutely anything in front of their older selves.

Except for subtly things had changed but no one was there to see it, no one saw how Dazai pursed his lips when Chuuya leant back, head first so he could stretch, or how Chuuya swallowed thickly when Dazai licked his lips in concentration as he drew, no one saw the longing glances at each other and they most certainly ignored the fact that they gravitated toward each other without meaning too.

But that tender and awkward tension that was usually seen around teenagers in high school who suspected that they liked each other but did nothing about it, surrounded them, and even though they accepted the fact they would never be together it still made them feel giddy when they were around each other.

But their domesticated teenage dream had to come to an end eventually.

The had to accept that now that they were seated in the back of Nakahara's car on their way to the location they had first disappeared in, unlike when they first got here, they were quiet, they didn't bicker or argue and just sat in solemn silence. Dazai's hand on top of Chuuya's, their fingers slightly interlocked even from the weird angle, they knew they wouldn't be able to do this anymore when they got back so they made the most of it now.

Once they made it and the car was promptly parked not too far away, they got out and walked over to the area they had been in, it was fenced off now, with barbed wire and a great big obnoxious sign that said it was government property.

Osamu took a key out of his waistcoat and slotted it into a metal door "How come you have that?" Chuuya asked, pointing towards the key.

"Well he works in the agency, doesn't he? He's trusted with it. We also had to tell...an old friend about the situation so he went and gave us the key, saying it would be better if you returned to the same location you left from," Nakahara explained as they walked into the clearing, taking in a deep breath with a smile, which wasn't returned from either of them.

"What's up with the two of you? Aren't you excited to go back?" Osamu asked as he walked up towards them and stood next to Nakahara, crossing his arms expectantly but not harshly.

"No...not really," Dazai replied, looking at the ground and kicking a rock, "we got two weeks of peace we'll never get again," he paused as he sighed "I can already tell my mental health is going to plummet once we get back."

It was Chuuya who reacted first, grabbing Dazai by the shoulder and twisting him so that they were facing each other, Dazai lifted his chin to look at him, startled. "The fuck you are! I'm not going to let you! I don't care if we're not in the future and we have to worry about Boss and what the others will say or do, but I'm not going to act like nothing happened between us," Chuuya was glaring at him, eyes hard and determined, pink filtered through Dazai's cheeks but Chuuya was too busy making his point to notice.

Osamu smirked a little, feeling mischievous, Chuuya may or may not make him regret this later but for now, he wasn't going to miss the opportunity to mess with them a little "oh? What happened between you two?"

Nakahara could see his boyfriend positively glowing as the younger ones' faces exploded with red, "I- well uh- we-" Chuuya stammered whilst Dazai looked away.
