SIDDHARTH'S POV

Adhira has been distant since that day.

She hardly even looks at me.

She leaves even before I could get up and sleeps before I come home.

I don't know what's happening going in.

I left her alone so that she could have some time with herself and figure out what was going on.

But now I've had enough of it.

It's been a week.

That is why,today I'm taking a day off.

Dad wanted to have a talk with me so I'm going there now.

"Look I am not supposed to be interfering in this but your mom will kill me if I don't"H, e says

"Did something happen?"I ask me

"I should be asking you that. Did something happen between you and Adhira ?"He asks me

"No.why?"I ask him back

"Siddharth stop lying, She hardly speaks with us now, she doesn't even eat properly, "He says

So it's not just me.

"Dad Honestly I don't know what's up with her, I'm on off today. I'll talk to her. Let's see"I say to him.

"I don't know what you're doing. I just want my lively daughter back" He says

Daughter?

I guess no one can live without you in this house now Adhira.

IN THE EVENING

I wait for her in the hall.

She looked shocked when she entered.

She covered it and was going to go inside when I called out to her

"Adhira"

she stops but doesn't reply to me.

"Adhira, I'm talking to you, "I say to her and go near her

I was going to catch her hand when,

she moves away

"Fine, Look I just want to talk to you. Please"I say to her

"I won't waste your time, I promise, "I say to her

She sits on the sofa but still doesn't look at me

"I'll get straight to the topic, What's going on?"I ask her

She shrugs it off.

"Adhira I'm asking you something. Please answer"I say to her controlling myself

"What if I don't want to answer, "She says

"Then this conversation is pointless"I, say to her getting up

"Yes,this conversation is pointless when-"She stops and was going to to when

"When what adhira ?"I ask her raising my voice

"WHEN THERE IS NOTHING BETWEEN US, WHY AM I ANSWERABLE TO YOU WHEN YOU AND I ARE NOTHING"She says equally raising her voice

"We are friends adhira, "I  say to her still unbelievingly at what she said

"Friends! right"She scoffs

"FRIENDS WHO BECAME FRIENDS AFTER MARRIAGE"

"FRIENDS WHO ARE IN A MARITAL RELATIONSHIP"

"FRIENDS IN A MARRIAGE, THAT WAS DONE FOR REPUTATIONS"

"Two people in a marriage can be friends but they aren't called friends are they?"She asks me.

Angry tears ran down her cheeks.

"So this is it all about, "I say to her giving an unbelievable look

She looks away from me

"Fine. What did the others do to you?"I ask her

"I'M ASKING YOU SOMETHING ADHIRA"I  Shout at her so hardly that she flinches

By now all others had come out.

"DIVORCE"

Dad and bhai who just came from the office stare at us with horror.

All the other ladies gasp,

"I want a divorce, I don't want to get attached to all of you when I'm the person who is going away," She says crying

"Nothing stays with me, I'm alright by myself. You have already ruined me. What more do you want SIDDHARTH?"She says to me

"What-"She cuts me off

"I don't think it would be that big of a problem to you. You never wanted this to begin with"She says

"This is the first and the last thing I'm asking from you," She says 

I look away from her trying to control myself from bursting out on her.

I wipe my tears that unknowingly had come out.
