Lily Reinhardt, pale white skin, dark raven hair, and jet-black eyes was an ordinary 18-year-old girl who had just graduated high school and has a more or less rich family. It was a miracle really with her grades and her lack of motivation in academic studies.

Not only had she been an introvert, but she eventually lost friends gradually over time as her personality started to become more reserved and soon, she lost interest in the outside world. In exchange, she gained an interest more towards spending her time indoors and reading her light novels/manga in peace.

Her favorites though had been those fantasy reincarnation books. 'If I ever get the chance to reincarnate, I'd forgive the gods for giving me such a hard time in this life.'

And while it hasn't been long since she graduated, she took this opportunity to apply to many different kinds of jobs-from a dishwasher to a clerk.

That said, there were about ten of them that she had applied to, but she had been rejected by every.single.one of them.

Sure, her resume didn't look great, especially because of the fact that she came from one of those "prestigious" schools, and yet never failed to have less than average grades in each and every class, every year.

The only reason she hadn't been kicked out was because of her parents. They were the sponsors of the school council board which is the reason why she even got in.

Lily's parents were people who had worked hard to climb to the top of their positions and eventually founded one of the biggest companies today.

Unfortunately, that also meant they were constantly taking business trips and leaving Lily at their duplex with her designated nanny/caretaker Lindha.

Lindha was a middle-aged woman who'd had no children of her own. She had the most prettiest blonde hair, with the soft sapphire blue eyes and deep wrinkles decorated her facial features.

Being infertile and never being able to have children made Lindha lonely.

She had originally just been a house maid for the Reinhardt couple and had been employed a couple months right after Ms. Reinhardt gave birth to Lily.

Of course, after Ms. Reinhardt had fully recovered, she immediately returned to work with her husband and gave Lindha a different position as a nanny with a bonus check.

Lindha accepted and had basically raised Lily. She'd sympathized with the young child and had tried her best to reassure her parents love for her and fill their empty spots.

Despite Lindha being there for her every step of the way, Lily felt that the emptiness in her heart never went away.

Not only did they not go to her elementary to middle school graduations, but they also couldn't even take a trip back home for their only daughter's birthdays.

Over the years it was just Lily and Lindha, celebrating their birthdays and Lindha taking her parent's place at the parent-teacher conferences.

But alas, with the parents' negligence and absence, Lily could not find it in herself to think of Lindha being a replacement for her parents for she still had hope that they would one day come back home and tell her they wanted to stay with her at home once and for all.

Not only did the negligence of her parents cause her to have trust issues with her peers, but it had also caused her low self-esteem.

This in turn made her rely on her light novels and manga/webtoons that she would read online.

These fictional stories brought her so much comfort just through her imagination and mind alone.

Just the thought of being able to live a life full of adventure, and magic is very exciting for her to think about. In a way it is like her fulfilling her inner desires through these stories.
