𝐄𝐕𝐄'𝐒 𝐏𝐎V:

"Bodyguard?! Why does Benny think I need a bodyguard!?!" I state, surprised.

"Seriously Miss Valencia? You're America's sweetheart! One of the most profound popstars of our generation! If anything, you should of had multiple bodyguard much earlier on, but no one wanted the challenge of handling the paparazzi and especially your fans. You know how obsessed they are with you." My chauffer, Kenny exclaims, and I nod my head in agreement, getting anxious flashbacks from this morning.

But then I remember him, the most gorgeous man I had ever laid eyes on. I remember the way he held me in his embrace, the way he caressed my back with a sense of comfort I had never felt before, and the way he had the most perfect emerald eyes. I swear I could stare at his God - like features until I die and never get bored. Time passed effortlessly as I rested my eyes, picturing Grayson's perfect face and figure, never getting bored thinking about him. Yet my thoughts were abruptly overshadowed by Kenny's voice.

"We have arrived Miss Valencia, Benny has asked for you to see him in the studio immediately." I nodded and thanked Kenny, already noticing fans and cameras gathering outside my agency building. I took a deep sigh, feeling the panic attack already arising in me.

Covering my eyes with my sunglasses immediately, I stepped out of the limo, the screams and flashes of the paparazzi filling the air. Inappropriate questions from paparazzi made my breathing unsteady whilst fans filmed my every move from every direction possible. After moving through the crowd for what felt like hours, I hastily made my way into the building, the chaotic scene outside fading into the background as I entered the calm lobby of Benny's ridiculously tall building.

My mood however was suddenly upturned by the warm smiles and greetings I was given by the employees I regularly see and talk to whilst waiting to go and see Benny. The elevator doors closed behind me as I ascended to the 10th floor, mentally preparing myself to act interested in whatever Benny had to tell me.

After arriving on the designated floor, I was greeted by Benny's excited facial expression, obviously excited to tell me something.

"Good morning, Eve," He said enthusiastically, but was fiddling with his patterned tie impatiently.

"Good morning, Benny," I replied, my eyes wandering to a man sat on a vibrant blue couch, facing the door.

"Eve, I'd like you to meet your new bodyguard, Grayson Luciano," Benny introduced, his face plastered with joy, probably because he could stop worrying about me being out in the streets of LA on my own. My eyes widened in recognition as I registered the random stranger sat on the couch. "You're the one who saved me earlier," I exclaimed, my heart pounding with surprise and relief.

"Uh... what do you mean 'saved you'?! Did something happen?" Benny exclaimed, automatically checking to see if I was hurt anywhere, like he was my dad.

"Don't worry Benny, nothing happened. I'm fine." I replied, returning a warm smile.

Grayson gave a smug smirk. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Valencia. I hope we can get along perfectly together," he said confidently, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

As Benny excused himself, leaving us two alone, I sat on the couch facing Grayson, the tension crackling in the air.

"So, Miss Valencia, tell me something about yourself, where did you grow up?" Grayson urged, a playful glint in his eyes. I found myself drawn in by his charisma, his genuine interest in getting to know me. I couldn't remember the last time someone had talked to me like I was just a normal person.

After a moment of thinking I replied, "Oh, all over the place. My parents were constantly moving around for work, so I never really had a set hometown. How about you?"

"I'm from Giverny, a town near Paris. But I've lost my French accent due to me and my family moving to America when I was 12" Grayson explained, always maintaining eye contact with me.

"Giverny is so beautiful, I always went to France for my family's holidays when I was younger" I stated, already feeling comfortable in the conversation. 'I've always wanted to live in smaller towns, but I don't think I could keep myself occupied. I've always been more of a big city girl at heart."

GRAYSON'S POV:

I couldn't help but smile at this revelation. Despite her global fame, Eve seemed down-to-earth and easy to talk to. So I decided to take a chance and ask her a more personal question.

"So, what was your childhood like?" I inquired, genuinely curious about the person behind the pop star persona. Eve's expression softened at my question, and she replied, "It was challenging at times, but my parents always made sure I had a happy childhood. They were very supportive of my dreams and encouraged me to pursue my passion for music. Well at least my mom was. My dad was too scared my dreams would get crushed in the music industry, so he didn't let me take my career any further until I was around 17"

As I listened to her melodic voice, I couldn't help but admire her resilience and determination. I knew that being a successful pop star didn't come easy, and I was starting to see Eve in a different light. Maybe this job wouldn't be as difficult as I thought it would be. It's safe to say my other clients hadn't been as comforting or down to earth as Eve is, maybe that's why I'm already excited for my first day of working with her.

EVE'S POV:

An hour or so had passed of pure conversation between me and Grayson, which felt like a matter of minutes due to the pure comfort and enjoyment I felt when I was with him. Eventually, Kenny had arrived outside the building as Benny entered the studio again, greeting me and Grayson for the second time today.

"So, I hope you two got along and are ready to start working together tomorrow?" He asked, worried that we already hated each other and that he'd have to find someone else crazy enough to take on the job.

"Stop worrying Benny! We had a great talk, and I'm looking forward to working with Grayson from now on." I stated, turning around and giving Grayson a warm smile. He made sure to maintain eye contact with me still, returning the expression.

"Oh fantastic! I'm so glad. Well Eve, Kenny's outside and I've got some work to do in here, so shall I see you both in a few days to see how you are getting on?" Benny asked.

"That's perfect, thank you so much Benny." I replied, wrapping my arms around him, embracing him in a tight hug. After a few seconds I released my arms, and made my way to Grayson.

"Thank you so much for today, I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow." I stated, smiling enthusiastically at him. "Me too, have a safe journey home Belle (beautiful)." He smirked, looking at my confused expression and walked out of the room, shaking hands with Benny.

LATER ON:

After the tediously long drive home, I thanked Kenny and made my way into my apartment block, appreciating the limited amount of people around on the streets. I entered my apartment, changed into my pyjamas and flopped onto my unmade bed, immediately curling up in the soft, silk sheets. Yet, sleep was the last thing I could do. All I could think about was the excitement I was feeling to see Grayson tomorrow.

Maybe getting a bodyguard won't be as torturous as I imagined...
