I opened my eyes and taking agarbatti in my hands, I made my way towards Tulsi...
Making my steps towards the plant, I felt my red dupatta slipping off from my head, adjusting it,
I carefully placed agarbatti near the roots of tulsi and adjoined my hands for the last time while closing my eyes, praying for betterment
My eyes opened when I heard my "maa" calling me from downstairs,
"Nandiniii, Roop aayi hai tumse Milne"
Hearing roop's name, An wide smile forms on my lips and quickly turning around and making my steps downstairs, My eyes fell on roop, who was standing in our aagan with her hands folded over her chest

Roop's face lit up when her eyes fell on nandini and she quickened her pace to hug Nandini
"Nandinii, mujhe tumhari bhot yaaddd aayi" Roop exclaimed with excitement and embraced nandini in her arms tightly, making it slightly tough for nandini to breath
"Roop, Hame bhi aapki kaafi yaad aayi" nandini replied with an smile but the struggle to get rid of such an tight hug made her wiggle in her arms
Roop could care less and still embraced her with a widen smile on her face
Nandini's face grew red with the tight hold, she looked at her mother who was standing infront of her and signalled her by her eyes to seek help from her mother who just chuckled looking at them
They have always been like this, Roop was a bubbly and extrovert person while nandini was really shy, reserved and introvert person
They both have been best friends since childhood, they made so many memories together, where roop would always come home after having fights with people while nandini will always be sitting at home, waiting for her to come and rant up about her whole day
Knowing it was roop's fault, nandini would still always listen to her and will nod in her every talk
For her if she says that other person is wrong then that person is wrong
They have been like family,
Learning dancing together to cooking together to wander around whole village together to grow crops together, they were always by each other
Until, the day around 4 years ago, when roop who was into making an career had to move out from Village for her studies,
Village didn't had any good quality education system,
Nandini was left behind in Village, who continued to learn dance as her hobby rather than persuading her studies
After that, their meet became less and what made it more lesser was when roop met an guy "Ashwik" in her college, with whom she is happily married now and married woman don't visit her maika much right!
"Maaaa" nandini cried while struggling a little now, earning an chuckle from Saraswati
"Areee bitiya, bas bas bichari ka dam nah nikal Jaye" maa ji intruppted in between while holding her laugh
Roop grinned proudly and left nandini, who breathed and glared at her,
Shrugging her shoulders, both of their's attention diverted when, they heard sarpanch's voice
"Are roop beta, tum?" Father of nandini called her from behind
Turning around, an smile forms on roop's face and she ran towards sarpanch to touch his feet,
"Babaaaa" roop squealed with happiness, and bent to touch his feet in greeting
Feeling an pat on her head, Roop stood up and asked smilingly "kaise hain aap? Hame aapki mere kaan marordene ko aadat ki kaafi yaad aayi" roop said while collecting her palms together to wish him namaste
"Achhaa" sarpanch ji raised his eyebrows with an teasing smile and rolled her ear playfully
"Aaahuuu, Me mazak kar rhi thi" roop complained while trying to help her ear,
Baba ji just laughed at her and patted her head lovingly, she held her ear and slightly rubbed it
"Aare me bhul hi gyi, nandini, hamari sari saheliya hamara kuaan per intezar kar rhi hogi, chalo-chalo jaldi mataka uthao, paani bhar kar laana hai" roop said to nandini, while taking the empty matka in her hands from the door steps
Nodding her head, Nandini interrupted in between,
"Haan, ek baari ham apne Baal bana lein fir-" nandini tried to say but roop held her wrist and pulled her to herself
"Are abhi nahi, hame deri ho jayegi" she exclaimed while pulling nandini and showing her eyes to nandini, to signal her that she wants to talk to her outside and spend some time
Before roop could pull nandini out of the house, baba ji interuppted them in between
"Nandini, beta jaldi aana, sheher se bheem ke sath vo do yuvak bhi aa rahe hai, kuch der me aate hi honge"
"Jii baba"
