What can be more troublesome than an arranged marriage?

Nothing, right?

Poonam and Rohit are two people completely strangers to each other. Maybe it was fated, their families are very confident about the match. Rohit's mother is certain that there could be no better match for him than Poonam.

Rohit and Poonam have seen each other not many times before they got engaged. When they first met it was the day they were being introduced to each other and then there were two more times when they had seen each other, once at a family event and then another introductory custom. And shortly their families sealed the deal with the concerning consent of the two.

Unlike some other couples who get their match arranged and find the instant connection with their selected match, it was missing between Poonam and Rohit. There was no instant connection. Neither Rohit nor Poonam ever felt something like a connection. On the contrary, they felt distant.

The reason that they felt distant was clear. Poonam had a love for fiction whereas, Rohit was more into architect-related stuff such as artifacts, modern interiors, and similar sorts of things. Poonam liked romantic retro songs and Rohit liked English pop. Poonam liked food while Rohit's passion was cars. They were poles apart. Even their personalities were nothing alike.

In that case, why did they consent to marry each other?

Rohit was still pursuing CA. He is young, good-looking, and tall, everything a woman can ask for in her partner.

Poonam was no less in beauty than Rohit. No young man would decline the fact that Poonam was an immensely attractive young woman. When Rohit was asked if he would like to have her as his wife all he could think about was all the discussions he had with his mum and other relatives where he was told how well-cultured and compassionate Poonam is and he answered in affirmative.

Poonam was beautiful and she would always stand out in the crowd with her impressive social skills and intellect. She studies literature and has a liking for theatre arts. She lacks nothing, culture, manners, or skills. Wouldn't she make a perfect wife? Well, according to Rohit's mum Poonam would make a perfect wife.

Rohit was considerate, simple, and hardworking. Poonam never heard a bad thing about him. There were no reasons to reject him. Poonam too was convinced he would make a perfect husband and she said yes.

There was no regard that their choices, opinions, and personalities carried vast contrasts. Even people who are poles apart become soulmates after the match is made. Arranged marriage has that magic. Why not give it a try and see if the magic works?

And before the end of the year, the wedding was done.

The wedding was done rather simply. Poonam and Rohit both had no offenses and gladly performed all the wedding rituals in the presence of their family and friends with no extravagant grandeur.

However, the event concluded harmoniously.

And from there on, Poonam and Rohit started their journey as partners. It was the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

...

Long time!

So...uh, sorry to disappoint y'all. This one is not a #Amareena fanfic:'(

I'm pulling a little experiment here. This one as well is fanfic. Alright, so at first I thought I was not gonna reveal what show is this fanfic is related too, but I've changed my decision. And so I've changed the names of the characters back to the name of the characters in the original show.

So, this one is a fanfiction of an Indian web show called 'Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain' but this story does not follow the original plotline. It is in fact a prequel of the story of the show.

Apologies for starting with a boring chapter. Hopefully, y'all will not turn away your eyes instantly.

Not stretching the W/N further.
