The couple returned home after they had a good time at the restaurant.

"The food was good."

"I know, it's my favourite place for a reason." Rohit plopped onto the bed right after they entered the room.

"Rohit, wash up before you go to bed." Poonam said as she started to take off her earrings standing before the dresser mirror.

"Hmm..." Rohit hummed but he didn't move.

Putting her earrings on the dresser, Poonam approached Rohit and poked him on his shoulder, "Rohit." She called for his name a few more times. When she realized he dozed off and would not wake up any sooner, she sighed and then chuckled. Shaking her head, she climbed off the bed. Poonam stood by the bed and stared at Rohit with her hands rested on her hips. Poonam shrugged again. A sweet, small smile on her face.

Rohit had his arms and legs spread all over the bed. He looked like a child sleeping like that.

He must be exhausted.

Poonam went and gently pulled him across to his side of the bed. She took off his socks then with much hesitation undid the first few buttons of his button-up shirt. Helping him lay down comfortably, she put the comforter on him.

Rohit, who was actually pretending to be asleep somehow managed to suppress his smile. He liked the way she cared for him. And more than that, he liked it when she held him close while trying to put him to his side of the bed. It was the first time, Poonam was so close to Rohit. He had a hard time controlling his breathing when their chests straddled. Even the slightest touch was causing havoc in him. Rohit definitely wasn't in the right mind when he had those inappropriate thoughts while her hands were undoing his shirt buttons. Her soft fingers slightly brushing against his chest, her scent lingering all around him. It wasn't even wrong for him to feel this way but he remembered the remark Poonam made last time when he told her that he liked her.

If she doesn't want it yet he has to respect that as her husband. They're married after all. It's going to be the two of them for the rest of their lives. Rohit knew he was going to have enough time with her. He was going to have a family with her, a life with her!

Shortly, Rohit felt her soft figure slip inside the blanket beside him. The feeling of having her next to him, as always warmed his heart. But then he wanted to turn and hold her close to himself. Would she mind if Rohit really did that? He couldn't figure it out. Therefore, his thoughts —the urge to hold her close— the need surging through his veins, were not going to let him fall asleep.

Rohit couldn't sleep no matter how long he kept his eyes shut. He continued to sneak glances at his wife who shortly doze off to a deep slumber. Poonam was a deep sleeper and she wouldn't get up easily once she fell asleep, Rohit knew. The urge to hold her close was becoming irresistible. How was he going to excuse himself if he was caught in the act? Poonam will think of him as a creep and might as well get freaked out if she caught him in the act.

However, before his mind could make a call, his arms already reached her. Rohit slowly slipped closer to her retarded figure, slowly taking in her womanly fragrance. Her body was a soft cluster of clouds. Rohit didn't even have to put much force to pull her to himself. He continued to slip closer until his chest touched her back. His heart raced violently. His palm ever-so-slightly rested on her waist.

Poonam stirred. Rohit was startled by the sudden movement and was about to pull away when she grabbed his hand that was rested on her waist. Interlocking her fingers into his, Poonam pulled his hand over to her chest. Rohit gasped. Although his hand wasn't touching her body, it made him nervous to think how close his hand was to touching the curve of her chest. Rohit knew he was not going to be able to sleep tonight.

...

Poonam, after taking a nice, relaxing bath, stepped into her bedroom to find her husband still sleeping his head off. When Poonam had woke up, she was holding his hand close to her chest. As much as she was flustered thinking it must've been her, she couldn't help but wonder, has she been holding his hand like that all night? Only the thought of it warmed her cheeks colouring them in a red hue.

Rohit slowly stirred in the bed when Poonam started calling for him to get up, "Rohit, get up. You have a meeting to attend." Poonam tried to wake him politely.

"I don't wanna go..." Rohit whined in a sleepy voice.

"Rohit, you asked me to remind you, that this is important."

"Yaar, please, let me sleep..." He mumbled again.

"Rohit—" Poonam went and pulled him by the side of his shoulder turning him on his back. Poonam huffed and shook him holding him by his shoulders in an attempt to wake him up, "Get up!" Poonam slightly raised her voice.

Rohit grabbed a side of her arm then out of nowhere his other arm wrapped around her and pulled her to bed with himself. He hugged her tight and snuggled closer. Poonam remained stunned for a moment. Her face was so red that it could be compared to a tomato.

Rohit slightly opened his eyes and poured down at her. Her head pressed to his chest. Their heartbeats were thumping in sync. Poonam raised her head and met eyes with him. He stared at her with his drowsy drunken-looking eyes. He was probably drunk in her essence.

Rohit slightly grazed his finger to the side of her face as he brushed a stray lock away, "You're lovely." He whispered. He leaned closer and closer as if her body was pulling him like a magnet. He went and placed a kiss on her cheek. And her heart skipped a beat.

"Wh-what are you doing...?" Poonam whispered. Her voice was so quiet as if she was afraid she might break something if she raised her voice even a slightest bit.

Rohit pecked the other side of her cheek, "Nothing." He said as his hand cupped her face. Poonam gulped when his drowsy eyes peered in her wide awake ones.

"Rohit..." Poonam whispered again. His face was now very close to hers. She didn't dare to move, she knew if she did their lips might touch.
