Scene 1- Port, May 30th 1911At a ship port.
Heavy bustle in the streets with people looking at the ship named RMS Titanic.
William stands looking at the magnificent ship pulling into the port.
Innocently he asks a bystander.
'What's that?'
'RMS Titanic. But, it's not just any ship it's unsinkable'
'Unsinkable?'
'Oof... It means that the ship will not sink under any cause. It's made for the rich people not, for beggars like us'
William lifts his eyes to look at the fine white lettering.
'I wish I could ride on it'
'Oh,' the other man cruelly laughs attracting the attention of the people 'Oh, this bastard, orphan, freak and beggar, living on the streets like a pauper thinks he's going to ride RMS Titanic. Dream on, kid or better get back to work. Don't make a face like that you bally tramp'
Other people begin laughing mocking the poor boy. He narrowly misses being slapped by the other man.
Tears begin forming as he walks out of the crowd looking jealously at the rich in wonder.
Sung by- William
I was young
I wanted to see the world
Touch it,
Feel it,
Lose myself in it
But I was left alone
With the streets to call home
No one will show me now
Living in the streets
With That ship in our port
i could mend the life
That they cut short
The magnificent titanic,
Carrying its weight in gold,
If i could only get on,
I could be rich before i get old
Life with no opportunity,
Opportunity is here, now!
A peasant on the streets...
Soon to me they'll bow!
He walks into a bar.
Scene 2- Same day, a local bar
Hesitating, he makes a decision to drink his savings. As, he orders a drink for himself, his eyes stray onto a young man wearing a blue suit.
The man lifts his eyes to meet his.
They both share a smile.
