Saddled with the misfortune of having a boy's name and being raised by her rowdy college-age brother, notorious prankster, Tommy is anything but a normal eleven year old.
After her brother dies, Tommy is left in the care of her brother's girlfriend and best friend, since no one else seemed capable of understanding her the way they do, including her own parents.
Jack McMurphy is sick of his daughter's antics. So sick, in fact, that he refuses to tell even his closest friends about her. No, "My daughter did the cutest things today." Or, "My daughter got an A on her history exam." Or, "My daughter is quite the prankster, life is definitely more interesting when she's around." Jack is the type of uptight person Tommy can't help but cause trouble for; the two of them had been butting heads since she was in diapers.
So after Tommy's pranks "ruin" her brother's funeral, and the mess involving her mother that quickly ensued, Jack finally decides enough is enough and gives Tommy an ultimatum she can't joke her way out of. It's either go to boarding school or stay out of trouble for an entire month. If she can do it, she'll be allowed to stay in her hometown of Black Ridge Canyon, if not, it's off to a boarding school in New York for her.All Rights Reserved
