I grew up in rural Australia with nothing to do but climb trees, ride bikes, and dream of places far away from Earth. I remember disappearing into the bush for hours at a time just to daydream about sword-wielding princesses, kindly dragons, and gentle princes made for true love's kiss. Even in school I would spend my time running off to distant kingdoms, never listening to what the teachers had to say (I must admit, my grades suffered from my expeditions).

As I grew the chaos around me started to demand my attention more and more, but I refused to give up on the dreams of my childhood. In middle school a newfound friend suggested one of the most life-altering experiences I've ever had as casually as if she were announcing what was for dinner. But, from the minute I started to type those words onto the page I knew this was for me. I was an amateur, a novice, unable to properly express my ideas, but my eagerness to craft entire worlds pushed me towards expertise and I began to live and breathe writing.

Once I finished school and headed off to university, I found that my time was slim and my energy even more so; my passion suffered and my intricately crafted societies were shelved. As time wore on and my craving for happiness began to scream, I decided to utilized every spare minute to sooth it; I refused to let this tear me from my beloved space. Now, as I'm coming to the end of my degree and will soon be in the workforce, all I hope and wish for is to have even the smallest amount of time to continue to dream.
