A sneak peak of the next chapter of Passage of Time! (so sorry this took so long, writer's block is no joke— I forgot how much I've missed writing...)
A lonesome walk wasn’t as calming as she expected it to be.
Her earlier plight this morning had her thoughts taken over and wrapped around her neck, squeezing without remorse. It hurt more than what she could remember in her last moments, a bigger betrayal she commited— was this the punishment she was waiting for? The one she apparently asked for?
To be given a new life but to forget the one before?
To have the chance to enter a completely different world or time, some poor soul would have most likely jumped at the chance, paying no mind to the consequences as long as they get to leave whatever version of torture they were born in. Would anyone really take that chance? To willingly forget who they once knew to start anew?
Letting the puppet master use their bodies as mindless toys to play with. A spark of resentment festered in her heart. What a cruel game, She thought. A cruel way to play the pitiful and unworthy. To abuse the fragile mind. Very cruel indeed.
