Hello everyone,
It’s been a while. Life truly got hold of me last year. Covid didn’t help either. I haven’t looked at Wattpad properly until now.
In my absence, I see that Price of Love has gained more reads, comments and likes than I could ever hope for. I love you guys for it. I even love how you guys are still excited about the next book. You guys are amazing.
However, after checking up on what I missed with Wattpad, I understand Wattpad is not what it used to be. It’s moving further and further away from the platform I once knew and loved. It was once a place to share your work and hone your craft. Now, it’s becoming money based at the expense of the writers. And the writers aren’t getting any of the benefits. And if they do, it’s very minimal.
With the recent news of the ONC terms upon entering the contest, I’m beyond disturbed. You can find out what I mean from my close friend, @ClarityNMercy, who explains further. They have since removed the terms after many have complained. But that is beside the point. The concern is if it’s attempted once, they will try again. First, it will be the ONC, then any affiliated Wattpad contest. The Wattys will follow and, worst-case scenario, whenever you want to post anything.
Because of this, I will remove my work from Wattpad. I will give it until January 31st to anyone currently reading my books. As of February 1st, I will no longer have anything on Wattpad. I know this is not ideal for those who have waited for my return, but I must look out for myself and my work.
I’m not sure where or when I’ll post. But if I do post, I will definitely let you know. I’ll be on Wattpad via @EroticBookClub and help the Wattpad community, who’ve been there for me throughout my journey. EBC will be up and running this year on February 1st. Thank you for your love and support.
Happy New Year. Until next time. Much Love xxxx
