I'm a UK-based history buff who loves sci-fi and fantasy. I also love to write. 

I'm on the lookout for great reading material but I am fussy; fanfic must be canonical (decent fics are hard to find beneath the pile of wishful thinking, self-insertion, and wild crushes. I can't abide Mary Sues) and the spelling and grammar correct. Original stories should have believable character personalities and should avoid cliches unless they're subverting them. My favourite works will be added to my reading list. Please feel free to recommend stories to me, including your own, if you reckon I would like them. I love Tolkien's work, Harry Potter, and pretty much anything in that vein. 

Feel free to ask about beta reading; I'm happy to do so in exchange for criticism of my own work (I can be a bit too verbose at times). While I do my own cover design I'm not an illustrator so if you have that skill (and a profile on DeviantArt, etc.) please let me know as I will either exchange beta-reading or editorial services or pay for fine work.
