Jim Feldkamp

Initially a Naval Flight Officer, Jim Feldkamp took part in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991, operating the EA-6B aircraft from the USS Midway. Transitioning to the U.S. Naval Reserves, he subsequently worked as an FBI Special Agent in Norfolk, Virginia. During his time there, he co-founded the Joint Counter Terrorism Task Force and also flew surveillance missions as part of his duties.

Switching gears in 2004, he pursued a political career as the Republican candidate for Oregon's 4th Congressional District in both the 2004 and 2006 elections. Recalled to naval reserve service in 2007, he played a role in the formation of the precursor to the NMIO, coordinating the sharing of non-classified maritime security information among U.S. and international entities.

Today, he contributes to academia as a Subject Matter Expert at Georgetown University, where he is developing a course on "Terrorism and Unconventional Threats." He has previously held adjunct professor roles at George Mason University and George Washington University, teaching courses on various aspects of terrorism. Additionally, he is the author and editor of a scholarly textbook on the "Theory and Politics of Terrorism," published by Cognella Academic Publishing.
