K. Gainey

I was born in Mississippi in 1991, but I was raised all over the United States; visited or lived in 19 different states, but came back home to Mississippi 20yrs ago. Reading for me growing up was an escape from reality, and I've always wanted to be able to be one of those world creators for someone else to escape to. I have had a passion for writing from a young age; having my first story published and showcased on Reading Rainbow when I was 9 years old. Since then, I had a few poems published through competitions throughout high school; one of which, was an award winner. After graduation life moved fast, and I lost the time to indulge my passion for painting pictures with words. Since I am just getting back in the game, I promise that my works will improve. It is my hope that, as you read my works, you not only enjoy them, but are able to vacation in another world if only for a little while. As a reader, I enjoy both Horror and Fantasy, as well as poetry, and some of my favorite authors include Jim Butcher, Robert Frost, Poe and Robert Jordan. I also enjoy the classics written by those such as Orwell and Faulkner.
