My main goal as an author is to evoke feelings because I know how bad depression can be and what it is like not to be able to have any of those. What helped me with my escapism was consuming media that triggered strong emotions in me. That's what I want my readers to feel too.
Be it anger, disgust, sadness, pain, surprise, fear or simply happiness.
If I have managed to trigger something like that in you, I have achieved my goal and I am happy.
