General psa: never ever assume anyone is well informed on an issue taking place that doesn’t affect their day to day lives, no matter how important that issue may be. And if a person is unaware of the situation, you’re doing the entire movement injustice by bashing them for it. Do you wanna know the fastest way to lose someone’s respect and attention for an issue? By calling them an ignorant heartless idiot for not already being balls deep in protest. Plus, you never know what a person may be going through. A lot of people battling intense depression and anxiety find it within their best interest to avoid the news so that they can function without having a panic attack every few minutes or losing the will to live. Continue fighting for what you believe in and give others the grace they deserve.

I think the most hilarious thing that happens in every fandom is that if there are two male characters who are absolute sworn enemies, would rather die than spend an eternity together, and have put one another through enough suffering to make even Satan hurl, a large percentage of the fandom will still find a way to justify their yaoi fanfic of them where they are happily married and deeply in love.
