*this mini chapter just provides a snip-bit of Cameron and Damon before they were together.*

Cameron's POV — Sophomore Year

I fold my arms over my chest, blocking out the chilly air, as Damon and I walked towards the line for one of the rollercoasters. I take quick glances at him, internally smiling at how adorable his glasses make him look.

"Man, this line is long." He stated while shoving his hands in his pockets, my head nodding in agreement. He twists his lips, looking over his shoulders before looking at me. "Wanna go get food instead?"

"Yeah, that's fine. What do you want?"

"I've never had funnel cake. . ."

Never? I look up at him with wide eyes, playfully acting overly shocked and offended. "Okay, we're definitely getting that. Come on, I think we passed one earlier."

I grabbed his hand, ready to walk hand-in-hand like I would with Hayden, before I closed my eyes tight in embarrassment. I let go quickly, offering him an awkward smile with my apology.

He brushed it off with ease, conversation between us easily flowing, which in turn made the space less awkward. On the plus side, we stay pretty close to each other, though, trying not to get separated in the swarm of people on the carnival grounds.

The screams and noises from every direction are loud as can be, but at least we've made it to the designated food section. To our surprise, a picnic table is empty, so I take a seat to save our spot while he orders the funnel cakes.

Maybe I should just tell him I like him. Guys like confident girls, right? In all honesty, I doubt he's even into me like that. He's new here enough as it is, every other girl eyes him as he walks through the halls.

Sighing, I braced my arms on the table top as I mindlessly scrolled through my phone. I glance up a few times, giggling to myself as Damon does whatever he needs to do to keep himself upbeat while standing in line.

He's such a goof.

"Stalking your boyfriend, again?" A voice called, causing me to jump slightly. I roll my eyes as Hayden, Kristen, and Adeline take a seat at the table; the twins laughing up a storm.

"I wish." I mumbled while placing my chin in my palm.

"Creep." Hayden replied, "Stalking's unattractive."

"I meant the boyfriend part, smart ass. He'd have to be my boyfriend for me to stalk him." I said, right before my own brows furrowed deeply. "I mean—uh, you know what I'm trying to say."

"Yeah. You're just eye fucking the guy you want to be boyfriend, but isn't because you won't say anything." Kristen chimed in, taking a sip from her soda.

"I wasn't eye fu-"

"Sure you weren't." She laughed, looking over her shoulder at Damon, who was now ordering. "Come on, Cam. I know he likes you back. Just tell him, he'll dig the fact you made the first move."

I give her an uneasy look, not fully believing that he likes me back. Kristen sighed before looking over at Adeline for support, her blue eyes landing on my instantly.
