"I'M SORRY," Aiko said, sighing as she faced Yumiko while looking down at the ground, her expression making it obvious that she felt very guilty about something. It honestly surprised Yumiko that those words were the ones that came out of Aiko's mouth, she was the one here to apologize but here she was now being the one apologized to. Yumiko opened her mouth to say something but Aiko blocked her mouth with a hand, widening her eyes a little, an expression saying 'no, don't talk'.
"Wait wait, I'm sure you're going to say something like 'you don't have to be sorry, it's actually my fault'," Aiko said waving her free hand around as Yumiko blinked twice since that was exactly what she was about to say, "But don't say that, okay? Because this is my fault, not yours. You can't control your feelings and I can't control mine but that doesn't mean I had the right to be upset at you for liking the same guy as me when it's clear that he doesn't even have any interest in me, plus, I realized that a guy isn't worth losing a friend."
Aiko let out a small smile at the end of her little speech, she was glad to have let that all out and be honest with herself for once. Yumiko didn't know what to say, she honestly felt very touched, she removed Aiko's hand from her mouth so she could talk, "Even though you said I shouldn't say sorry, I'm still sorry. I knew that you liked Sakusa-san and yet I went and had feelings for him, but just like you said, we can't control our feelings. So it was alright for you to be upset with me, the important thing right now is that we're okay, right?"
