"Hey, kiddo, time to get up, breakfast is almost ready." a voice spoke softly.

Dabi stirred, drifting into consciousness.

He opened his eyes a bit to see sunlight shining into the room backlighting a figure with a messy bun.

Dabi, not remembering the night before yet, shot straight up, heart racing and eyes wide as he surveyed his surroundings.

Shit.

Where was he?

What was happening?

Why is everything so big?

Fuck.

What's going on--

And then it all came back to him.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." The voice said.

Dabi sighed and plopped back down against his soft pillow, holding up his hands to his face.

Which was wet.

Great, he didn't even realize he'd started crying.

This shit is gonna get annoying fast.

Dabi forced down that lump in his throat and wiped his tears away the best he could, peeking at the figure sitting on the side of his bed.

Oh yeah, and he's stuck here with stupid dumbfuck Eraserhead.

"It's fine." Dabi mumbled, still covering his face.

He should've just stayed in that alley. He should've bucked up and got the hell outta dodge the moment he realized what was going on. It would've been so much easier to hunker down in some abandoned building until the effects of this quirk wears off instead of being dragged to some heroe's apartment where, obviously, that hero will have a billion dumbass questions about his history, why he was in an alley alone, and most annoyingly, ask Dabi to talk about his "feelings."

Ugh.

Dabi got rid of his feelings a long time ago.

Other than the useful ones like hatred and the desire for sweet sweet revenge.

Those come in handy.

Maybe tonight he can sneak out and run away.

Though, that's probably easier said than done.

No doubt Eraser has a keen sense of hearing and sense of intuition to know when something's up.

Plus, Dabi doesn't even know where this apartment even is. Like, a lot of last night is hazy from the fact that a lot of shit was going on all at once. So give Dabi a break if he wasn't solely focused on locating his whereabouts on a dark rainy night after being suddenly turned into a kid.

"You gonna get up for breakfast?" Eraser reiterated, seemingly worried about how small and scrawny Dabi was.

Dabi just let out a long breath and pushed himself up, still rubbing at his eyes.

Eraser actually snickered.

"What's so funny?" Dabi snapped, sending a glare the hero's way. It was a knee-jerk reaction. Dabi doesn't like being laughed at or belittled.

"Nothing, you just sound like an old man with that long sigh." Eraser pointed out, standing up from the bed.

Dabi continued his glare, but, sadly, in his current state, it was more of an angry pout than anything.

"I'm just tired, jeez." Dabi mumbled, throwing off the covers and sliding off the bed. It was now that he fully realized how tiny he was. Like, he was always short for his age and especially short for his family, but it felt weird to be back at this extreme end.
